This Privacy Policy applies to our websites (“Website”). The Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and share personal data when you enter into an agreement for the use of our websites, how we register information through cookies about your use of our websites, and exchange information with third parties.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, and Aurora Borealis Multimedia AS does not accept responsibility for the processing of personal data on these websites.
Personal data is information and assessments that can be linked to an individual. Our processing of personal data takes place within the framework of the general rules of the Norwegian Personal Data Act and regulations, as well as other relevant regulations, such as the Marketing Act and the Bookkeeping Act.
1. Processing of personal data on www.lofoten.com
The web editor is responsible for Lofoten.com’ processing of personal data on www.auroraborealis.no, unless otherwise stated below. It is voluntary for those who visit the websites to provide personal data in connection with services, such as receiving newsletters. The basis for processing is the consent of the individual, unless otherwise specified.
Data collected in connection with the operation of the website is stored on separate servers operated by Google Analytics. Only Aurora Borealis Multimedia AS has access to the information collected.
2. Web statistics
Lofoten.com AS collects de-identified information about visitors on Google Analytics and Google AdSense. The purpose of this is to compile statistics that we use to improve and further develop the information offered on the website. Examples of what the statistics provide answers to are how many people visit different pages, how long the visit lasts, which websites the users come from and which browsers are used.
The data is processed in de-identified and aggregated form. De-identified means that we cannot trace the information we collect back to the individual user. We collect the full IP address, but the IP address is de-identified so that only the first three groups of the address are used to generate statistics. That is, if the IP address consists of the numbers 195.159.103.82, only 195.159.103.xx is used. In addition, IP addresses are processed at an aggregated level, i.e. all data is merged into one group and not processed individually.
We use the analysis tool Google Analytics on our website. Information from this tool is not disclosed from Lofoten.com AS to other actors.
3. Ads
Lofoten.com also have an agreement with advertising platforms that make sure to fill empty ad spaces on the website. The advertising platforms get access to information about your IP address and browser in order to decide which ad to place on the site. The advertising platforms target ads based on knowledge they can associate with a current IP address or other identifiers, such as which ads the browser has been exposed to in the past and their effect.
Lofoten.com use cookies (section 4) to gain knowledge about the impact of ads or types of ads.
We also allow advertisers and the advertising platforms we have agreements with to use cookies to measure the effectiveness of ads. Advertisers are responsible for the cookies they set on the Services and for the use of the information collected.
Ads published directly on the website by Lofoten.com are not controlled by cookies.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer when you download a website.
The storage of information and the processing of this information is not permitted unless the user has both been informed of and has given his/her consent to the processing. The user shall be informed of and approve what data is being processed, what the purpose of the processing is and who is processing the data; cf. Section 2-7b of the Electronic Communications Act.
The analysis tool Google Analytics places two cookies on your computer, these begin with:

- AMP_TOKEN
- _gac_”property-id”
This is done so that we can collect statistics, and is deleted after 90 days.

5. Sharing information on social media
You can share information, photos and videos from Lofoten.com on social media, such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, using a “Like” button or a “Share button”, for example. If you share information on social media, these media may collect information about your activity on the Service.
Information the social media may collect about you may include:
- Date and time of your visit
- Internet address or URL of the address you are visiting
- Your IP address
- The browser you’re using
- The operating system you’re using
They will also be able to associate this information with the profile you already have with them. Lofoten.com have no control over or responsibility for how social media sites use the personal information they collect about you. Lofoten.com therefore refer you to the terms and conditions that apply to the social media in question.
We recommend that you stay updated on the purpose and scope of information gathering that takes place on social media. You can prevent social media in your browser settings. If you want to avoid social media registering your behavior, you must log out of the social media in question.
