Stien opp til Rangeldalen ved Laukvik

The path up to Rangeldalen at Laukvik

The road, or path up to Rangeldalen, was built in connection with the start of mining in the area in 1907.

The mining lasted only five years, then there was no more ore to be collected, and in 1912 one of the wildest industrial adventures in Lofoten came to an end. Today, the trail is used extensively by hikers.

Facts:

The trail can be found a few kilometers south of Laukvik. It was built so wide that not only the workers, but also horses could get up, and winds in many turns up through the steep and wooded mountainside.
