Oberst Birger Eriksen som senket Blücher.

Lofoten War Memorial Museum

Norway's largest exhibition from World War II.

The museum exhibits an incredible amount of rare objects and uniforms from the wartime.

Here you can see everything from the flag of Blücher to Colonel Birger Eriksen who gave the order to lower it. Furthermore, the coat of Nordahl Grieg, which he was not allowed to take with him in the bomber to Berlin and which was taken care of by someone who flew Spitfires, is also on display. You will find the dramatic story of Jan Baalsrud and those who were dangerous to him – the Gestapo.

The museum exhibits approx. 140 rare uniforms and a myriad of items.

An English veteran wrote in our guestbook:
“Must be one of the best museums of its kind, may be the best.”
