The archipelago in Lofoten

The Lofoten archipelago consists of thousands of islets, islands and reefs.

In the far east, Risvær and Svellingan consist of more than three hundred islets and islands with rich flora and bird life and white sandy beaches.

Other large archipelago areas are Oddværan, Valbergflæsa and Henningsværøyene. Further west are Sundklakkstraumen and Borgvær. Lofoten’s most fascinating archipelago can be found on Røst.

Large parts of the archipelago in Lofoten used to be inhabited, but today it is largely deserted. The archipelago often provides shelter from the sea and the areas offer good conditions for paddling and swimming.
