Sørvågen is a vibrant fishing village in the borough of Moskenes.

Industrial activity consists mainly of fishing and tourism. In Sørvågen there is a school, a grocer’s, a convenience store, fish landing stations, marinas, a post office, restaurants/pubs, galleries and a telecom museum. Sørvågen is set in magnificent scenic surroundings and is an excellent starting point for walks up to Munkebu, a Rambler’s Association cabin with one of the best locations in the country.


In the mountains near Sørvågen, there are some excellent fishing lakes and plenty of opportunity for sports fishermen at sea or in fresh water.

There is a car ferry near the church in Moskenes, two kilometres from Sørvågen, calling at Bodø and Værøy/Røst.
