Skrova is named by some as beeing; "The Hawaii of Lofoten" because the small island in the middle of the Vestfjord has the least rain and the most sunny hours in Lofoten.
Despite the fact that Skrova is situated in the middle of the Vestfjorden, they have an active business community. Today, the main industries are salmon farming, fishing and whaling. The island also has several accommodations, restaurants, gallery and shops. Autumn and winter can be very quiet in Skrova, but around spring time, the society is again blooing with life.
