The book covers all municipalities in Lofoten – and it contains both old and new material related to the island kingdom.
– I find it equally rewarding every autumn when the launch date approaches, says editor Magnus Eilertsen, who publishes the book on his own publishing house. It’s always a bit of a pleasure to get the finished book product in your hand, and flip through the pages. Because there are a few hours of work behind such a 160-page printed matter – but I think the book has a value for many people that makes it worth the effort. The feedback from readers now at least points in that direction. So being able to contribute to giving other people good reading experiences is probably the biggest motivating factor for creating the book.
The autumn yearbook contains 12 articles. The topics covered have a wide range, and many interesting angles. Some article contributions are provided by regular writers each year, while the rest of the material is drawn from a number of different sources. This year, for example, space has been given to an article about the early beginnings of Lofoten tourism, which was originally printed in Aftenposten’s A-Magasin in 1964.
The yearbook for Lofoten 2020 is published by Eilertsen Forlag, which has also been responsible for the incredibly popular publication of “Old expressions from Lofoten”
