Trip to Vaterfjordtinden at Austnesfjorden

In gorgeous July weather, Lofoten.com took the approximately one-hour trip up from the E-10 at Skreddardalen to Vaterfjordtinden (Vatterfjordtind), which rises 576 meters above sea level.

The hike up to the foot of the mountain was first on a path, then on fine rocks and partly large stones. From the foot of the mountain and further up to the cairn, it is sometimes very steep and there was a lot of splitting, this route is NOT suitable for everyone.

At the top, the reward is gorgeous views in all directions.

The return trip went down along the mountain ridge in the direction of Hellskardalen and Vaterfjordpollen all the way down to the path along the pollen. The route up to Vaterfjordtinden from Vaterfjordpollen is definitely recommended as it is partly marked with small cairns up to the top, but even on this side you have to expect some small clefts in some parts.
