150 Vikings gather at the Viking ship harbor to strengthen bonds of friendship across countries and regions. There will be battle shows, craft demonstrations, evening and daytime concerts, a flame show, a mythical evening in the forest, the children will learn and fight, there will be courses, lectures and competitions 5 days to the end.
Activities for children are in focus
The organizer hopes that everyone, adults and children alike, will find engaging activities. Great emphasis has been placed on the children experiencing the Viking Age in different ways, and it is with both horror and joy that the organizer notes that Olaf the Beardless is back! He is once again looking for warriors for his army – they must be small, they must be brave and preferably a little nervous. Every day he trains children to fight like Vikings. Ask for Viking Boot Camp!
Of course, there will also be archery, ax throwing, pillow fights, balancing games and other games. Toddlers can try their hand at horseback riding, and everyone can join in sailing or rowing the Viking ship. Would you like to learn some party tricks? Then you can join Bjørke’s juggling school!
There will be musical performances, theater and storytelling sessions suitable for both young and old. This year’s battle show lets you see what’s going on in Valhalla. Mead and Bacon are important there..

Eldrim
The band Eldrim is one of the hottest things the Viking world has to offer in terms of music.
This Norwegian group has recently released a record (“Kvile”) and it is from this concert that it is formed.
It will be a journey of love, sorrow, longing and longing – find the handkerchief and look forward to a magical evening in the boathouse at the Viking Ship Harbor/Pollen (Friday 9 August at 10 p.m.) – (Eldrim also play short concerts with more cheerful music every day at daytime during the festival).
The Dubhlinn Moorings
Celtic band The Dubhlinn Moorings will perform a musical set celebrating Ireland’s connection to the Vikings, who came to settle much of Ireland from around the 8th century. In the forest by the festival area, there is an intimate atmosphere; traditional flutes, accordion, bodhrán drum and voices singing in the old Irish way.
Storynight in the forest
The organizer also has expectations for this – they are looking forward to an atmospheric evening, gathered around the fire in the forest by the festival area. The narrators Magnus and Ole will take the listeners into the mythical world of the Viking Age through stories about the Norse gods. This event is suitable for young people and adults.
After the story night, there will be a flame show!

Workshops and courses
There will be courses in plant dyeing of wool, knife-making courses, lectures on medicinal herbs, runes and embroidery. It is also demonstrated how beer brewing is done, cooking in a cooking pit and other things.
Market
A large selection of craft items is for sale in the many stalls set up by the Vikings. Jewellery, textiles, toys, leather work and much more can be found – often at great prices!
Lofoten Viking team
One of the region’s largest Viking teams, the Lofoten Viking Team, is the host team. The Viking Museum is pleased and proud that an ever-growing interest in the Viking Age is also expressed through a growing, active and vigorous Viking team. They are present with their own camp during the entire festival, and actively contribute to creating a good festival with lots of fun content.
