The local history yearbook has all municipalities in Lofoten as its catchment area, and presents both new and old history from the island kingdom. The yearbook publication is, in a sense, a kind of continuation of Dag Sørli’s (1940-2012) long-standing publication of the Lofot book, but both the book title and the graphic profile are new – as we are talking about a new era for the yearbook venture.
– There is still life in the making for a local history yearbook for the entire Lofoten region, says editor and publisher Magnus Eilertsen, originally from Værøy, the second-most point in Lofoten. This year’s edition has a wide range of topics and angles, and the various contributors have ensured that this is a book that can arouse the interest of many, both with and without affiliation to Lofoten. I both hope and believe that the tradition of publishing the yearbook can continue for many years to come, concludes Eilertsen.
