Matfestivalen i Lofoten 2018

Food Festival 2018 in Lofoten

On Saturday 13 October, this year’s food festival in Lofoten opens its doors. This is festival number eleven to be organised.

The food festival in Lofoten is organized in the Lofothallen on Vestvågøy from Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 October 2018. In addition, there will be various events in many places throughout Lofoten already from Saturday 6 October. Opening of this year’s lutefisk season in Kræmmarvika harbour, winemakers dinner with star chef Gunnar Hvarnes at Scandic hotel in Svolvær and Leknes. There will also be a wine tasting of Barberaviner in Lofothallen on Saturday.

Northern Norway really has a lot of exciting food to offer! The whole of Northern Norway is a veritable pantry for good food, whether the raw material comes from sea or land. Skillful processing helps to create local food culture and local food traditions of which we are very proud and for which many in Northern Norway have garnered great recognition.

The food festival wants to “cheer everyone” and wants to show off a diversity you’ve hardly seen the likes of. Amateurs and professionals, well-known and unknown chefs will be present during the Food Festival in Lofoten.

In several places in the hall, you will experience exciting glimpses of food. The taste buds can really be stimulated by a visit to the many exciting stalls. In the cafe you can buy local baked goods and a good cup of coffee, while at the same time you can enjoy entertainment for young and old.

Perhaps a visit to a restaurant tempts you?

The food festival will have its own restaurant in the Lofothallen, which tempts with exciting dishes of both fish and Lofot lamb. In the many stalls you can buy and taste Northern Norwegian and international dishes. For the children, the organizers will, as usual, have a lot of exciting things to offer.
