Hulder and other things in the Holandshamn area.
Horror in Holandshamn

In the far east of Vågan, it is not entirely free of ghosts and other strange events.

The murder in Gunnarkilen
In Langosen between Holandshamn and Pollan is Finngraven(e). Legend has it that there were two Sami boys who fought with a knife over the same girl. The girl intervened and was killed. On the grave grow lilies, which are only there, and which do not grow if you take them somewhere else and plant them.

Incidentally, at the bottom of Gunnarkilen, which lies under steep mountains, is not the best place to be on dark autumn evenings. Then the underground will reportedly hold a terrible spectacle.

The Randina Stone
On the side of the road, just before the exit to the youth center in Holandshamn, is the Randina Stone, where the huldra lives. Her name is of course Randina, and you should not try to remove that stone.

One story is that they were going to blow it away to improve the road, but suddenly there was a strange woman standing in the middle of the workers. Naturally, it was with that attempt. The stone is located by a small stream called Skiftelva, the name comes from the fact that here bathes, shifts, huldra on Saturday evenings.

The woman in Skaret
In Skaret, which goes down to Fagerbakken, Kjerringa i Skaret has been a concept for many generations, and many people are said to have met this personage wearing a shawl and headscarf. The question is, are there not as many people who know who she is?

Utburden in Strauman
In Strauman, which is located between Vatnvågen and Reinskaret, an illegitimate child is said to have been buried, killed and buried by an unhappy mother. In dark nights, you can hear the screams of the child.

Ho Lydia
Sometime in the nineteenth century, there was a lay woman named Lydia who was sent alone over the mountain from Storfjell to Holandshamn.

It was bad weather with fog, and she never got there. Many years later, human bones were found under a slab, and people assumed it was her remains. This has led to some speculation and legends that unfortunately it is not possible to find out.
