Reine Municipal Centre for Moskenes

Reine is one of Lofoten’s most famous and visited fishing villages, and the administrative center for Moskenes municipality.

Reine is one of Norway’s most photographed landscape motifs and inspiration for many artists – and experience centers such as Epcot, Legoland and Madurodam. Reine has a large accommodation capacity with over 200 beds, mostly restored and new fisherman’s cabins.

Reine is the starting point for the boat trips into one of Norway’s most beautiful fjords, the Reinefjord. With a rugged nature surrounded by steep mountains that go all the way down into the sea. From the Reinefjord, you can easily walk over the mountains to the giant Bunes beach, which is considered by many to be a secluded paradise.

In 2007, a new cultural centre opened in the old Reine school, where the artist Eva Harr has her own gallery.

Reine has been a trading post since 1743.
