Henningsvær
Henningsvær is probably Norway’s most famous and most visited fishing village.
Many call it the Venice of the North.
Henningsvær is built on several islands. The islands are linked by bridges, breakwaters and stone embankments. The road connection to Henningsvær came in the early 1980s, when two bridges were built to link the small community to the rest of Austvågøya. And with it, tourist traffic increased.
Henningsvær is a vibrant community with galleries, unique shops, hotels, cabins, cafés and restaurants. The business community is mainly based on fishing and tourism.
