Fishing in Lofoten

Lofoten is known for Lofoten fishing and Lofotskreien, but the region is so much more for someone who loves fishing.
There are good opportunities to fish for a variety of fish species, both at sea and in the mountains.

In Lofoten and the surrounding area, there are a number of adventure companies that offer arranged deep-sea fishing trips with both large and small boats. The boats will then provide the fishing equipment you need on the trip.

If you want to go to sea alone, there are a number of accommodations that rent out boats in a variety of varieties and sizes. Those who rent out boats usually also have rental of rescue equipment and fishing equipment.

If you want to go fly fishing, bait fishing or lure fishing in freshwater and rivers, Lofoten offers a wide range of such opportunities. The fish species found in the region’s freshwater and rivers are salmon, trout, and char.

There are also great opportunities for fishing from rocks and the many bridges that connect the archipelago. In winter, you can actually stand on the rocks in Lofoten and pull large and fine cod.

For children, fishing is also an exciting activity. It doesn’t take a big fish for it to become memories for life for someone who is small himself. At several of the tourist facilities, children can frolic in fish swimming just outside the pier.
